In the 1950s, evaluations for Yates Uranium Mines Inc. were completed by consulting engineer G.H. Dumont. Mr. Dumont is one of Canada’s most accomplished engineers. He assisted in the discovery of 11 mineral deposits and was inducted into the Canadian Mining Hall of Fame in 1995. He provided the following estimates for uranium and thorium at the property's two most significant radioactive zones, dubbed the “Camp Zone” and the “Matte Zone.”

  • Dumont inferred the Matte Zone contained approximately 3,356,000 tons of ore with grades of:

    • Uranium: 0.078%

    • Thorium: 0.695%

    • Fluorite: 15.00%

  • Dumont estimated the camp zone held 183,965 of ore reserves in an upper zone and estimated another 468,542 tonnes of ore in a parallel lower zone, with grades of:

    • Uranium: 0.056%

    • Thorium: 1.5%
